As a Pet Sitter & Dog Walker you'll primarily provide exceptional pet sitting services, with some dog walking as needed. We offer dog walking, drop-in visits, and in-home pet sitting services. Position Overview

This part-time position has the potential to transition into a full-time salaried role which would include health benefits, dental coverage, and a 401k plan. Flexibility, experience, dependability, and a love for pets are key.

Essential Job Functions

• Transportation: Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license to safely reach clients' homes within a 15 mile radius from Downtown Austin. Mileage reimbursement is provided for travel between job functions.

• Dog Walking & Pet Sitting: Safely walk dogs in public places, with the ability to handle dogs up to 40 lbs. Provide care for pets, including feeding, playing, and maintaining their environment as instructed by clients.

• Pet First Aid & Safety: Complete a provided Pet First Aid course and demonstrate the ability to react calmly in emergencies. Monitor pet health, and identify signs of aggression, stress, pain, or fear.

• Technology & Reporting: Utilize smartphones and pet sitter software to document care and provide updates to clients. Must be readily available via phone and text. Must have and know how to use camera / smartphone camera.

• Client Relations: Excellent communication skills to maintain high customer satisfaction. Establish trust and rapport with clients, offering regular updates and photos on their pets.

• Teamwork & Attendance: Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Must be reliable, flexible for scheduling, and committed to fulfilling all assignments, including weekends and holidays.

Requirements

• Experience: Must have prior experience with professional pet care, either through another company or platforms like Rover or Wag.

• Physical Capability: Able to lift up to 40 lbs and handle pets up to 40 lbs. Comfortable with moderate to strenuous physical activity and exposure to outdoor elements.

• Education: High School Diploma required; Pet First Aid certification to be obtained during orientation.

Preferred Qualifications

• At least 1-2 years of professional pet care experience.

• Knowledge of pet behavior, health, and safety.

• CPR and First Aid certification for pets (or willingness to obtain).
